1VE!SS ASSOCOTES
Mr.John Randall 4
f* November 14, 1989
Each ground water sample was decanted into a 40 ml glass volatile organic analysis vial
(VOA)with a Teflon septum,preserved with hydrochloric acid,sealed in a plastic guard bottle
containing activated carbon pellets and refrigerated for transport to SuFerior Analytical
Laboratory, Inc.of San Francisco,California. The water sample collection records and chain
of custody forms are included as Attachments A and 13, respectively.
A laboratory-supplied travel blank of certified organic-free distilled water
accompanied the s;:nples to provide assurance that contamination was not introduced during
sample bottle transport or storage.
GROUND WATER GRADIENT
Water levels for all monitoring v,ells were measured on October 5, 1989. Ground water
elevations are presented in Table 1,and ground water elevation contours are plotted an Figure
j 2. Wat!ir elevations in n1i mot:itoring wells on site have dropped consistently since February
191,R9 jeopardizing the reliability of representative water level measurements in monitoring
wells MW-1, MW-3, MW-4, MW-6 and MW-7. Historically, the general ground water flow
direction is northerly. Presently, there appears to be a ground water mound near the center of
the site, with flow radially outwards from the central area of the site.
' i
—11=11 go M11110man ns,owl
