S
i
Chevron U.S.A. - Page 4
1
petroleum hydrocarbons contamination in ground water. Further, the monitoring
EE^ well chemical analysis data has been interpreted as suggesting contaminant plume
movement in ground water beneath the subject property along the interpreted
rN
it
gradient.
044I
Based upon review of the quarterly monitoring data, Chevron U.S.A. has
requested that Dames & Moore prepare a workplan to further assess the ground
I
water contamination and hydrogeologic conditions beneath the subject property.
ru
[,c
Further, Chevron has requested that Dames & Moore assist in the preparation of a
ground water remediation system design for the subject property. The following
I
workplan summarizes the details of our proposed investigation.
3 i
3.0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF WORK
The purpose of the proposed investigation will be to evaluate the lateral
migration of ground water contamination noted at the subject property disclosed
' by the quarterly monitoring being conducted at the subject property. The
i
a investigation will be accomplished by and limited to soil boring, subsoil
sampling, installation of
ground water monitoring wells, chemical analysis of
E.:p
subsoil and ground water samples obtained, and in-situ hydraulic testing of the
aquifer at the subject property. The data obtained from the investigation,
coupled with review of published data and review of previous contamination
assessments conducted at the subject property will be used to help assess
the lateral trends of contamination migration in ground water. The data will
also be utilized in the evaluation of the applicability and implementation of the
tv
most appropriate ground water remedial technology for the subject property. It is
anticipated that the investigation will be within and outside of the original
`- Chevron service station lease line property boundaries.
D.ME,, N1001tc
