Chevron U.S.A.
Page 33
o Surface contamination observed by Dames& Moore immediately around
monitoring well MW-2, within the Christy-box and within the well
casing, lead to the conclusion that the contamination reported during
1988 and 1989 in monitoring well MW-2 was apparently due to external
contamination entering the well through the Christy-box.
12.0 LIMITATIONS
- The conclusions presented in this report are professional opinions based on the
data described in this report. They are intended only for the purpose, site location
and project indicated. The conclusions and opinions presented in this report are
based on the assumption that subsurface conditions do not deviate from those observed
during our study,as described in this report.
It should be recognized that this study was not intended to be a definitive study
_. of contamination at the site. The conclusions present in this report are based on
those locations sampled and tested.
The opinions presented herein apply to site conditions existing at the time of
our study. They cannot necessarily apply to site changes made of which this office is
not aware and has not had opportunity to evaluate. Changes in the conditions of the
subject property can occur with time, because of the natural processes or the works of
man, on the subject site or on adjacent properties. Changes in applicable engineering
or regulatory standards can also occur as the result of legislation or from the
broadening of knowledge. Accordingly the findings of this report may be invalidated,
wholly or in part,by changes beyond Dames&Moore's control.
16000-206-044 - -
