A 55 gallon drum full of used oil filters found in the outdoor hazardous waste storage shed lacks <br /> identification and a lid to k ep container closed. Used oil filters must be stored in a closed, rainproof <br /> container, labeled as "Drained Used Oil Filters," and marked with an accumulation start date. Last pick <br /> up of used oil filters by Sacramento Waste Oil on 03/2011. Drained used oil filters can remain on-site for <br /> up to 1 year of start accumulation date. Retain disposal receipts onsite for a minimum of 3 years. <br /> Ensure that all used oil filters are managed in this way. <br /> 52. Facility lacks a modifieJ contingency plan. Contingency plan must lists and emergency coordinator <br /> and their alternate emerge cy coordinator, location of spill control equipment (fire extinguishers, <br /> absorbent, mops), emerge cy contact phone numbers. <br /> - Corrected onsite. Provide form and posted hazardous waste emergency information. <br /> Submit to SJC EHb within 30 days (05/09/11): <br /> 1. one copy of the 'Completed "Return to Compliance Certification" form <br /> 2. a written correctilve action statement for the above violations <br /> Notes: <br /> - Operations begin in 08/2 10 according to EPA ID activation <br /> - Provided instructions for Hazardous Waste labeling of containers & tanks <br /> - Provided free training schedule for 2011 year. Recommended courses: Hazardous Waste <br /> Management, Universal Waste Management, Basic Auto Industry Hazardous Waste Management. <br /> - Universal Waste-'electronic devices, used fluorescent tubes, alkaline batteries, cannot be thrown in <br /> dumpster/ garbage. Must be taken to an authorized hazardous waste disposal facility.
