Prior to selecting a soil,
remediation alternative, the School Distriot has agreed to drill
soil borings around the former tank pit to define the lateral and
!^ vertical extent of soil contamination.
To define the extent of soil contamination 3-30 Foot borings will
be drilled around the pit to define the lateral extent of
contamination (see attached figure). A bo.--'ng will also be
drilled in the center of the former pit and advanced to either
the saturated zone (approximately 70 feet) or when two samples in
a row are determined to be clean. This detbrmination will be
made by field observations and by testing the soil with a
photol.onization detector and later confirmed by laboratory
analysis. Soil samples will be collected every five feet and
selected samples will be analyzed for benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX) and total petroleum hydrocarbons as
gasoline (TPHG). The samples will be analyzed by B.C.
Laboratories in Bakersfield, California.
The drilling spoils will be stored on plastic and covered with
the same until the laboratory results are received. The borings
will be abandoned with neat cement.
A letter report will: be prepared that includes boring -logs,
laboratory results, and conclusions and recommendations.
1710,MAIN,A7EE, • ESCALON,C?•v120 • r200)838-1507
RESNO,CA(209)222.3595 • RENIO.NV(702) 7aN4C830
bi2'd dJOD >1d10 T331tJII 60:9T 05, t'0 d3S
