Product Regular Gasoline 3. A. Groundwater Depth 65' to 69' , according to California Water Service Company at that location B. Soil Removed Approximately 59 cubic yards - See Drawing "A" C. Excavation History On November 4, 1988, a 1 ,000 gallon underground gasoline tank was removed and soil samples were taken from two feet under the tank cradle, at about 10 feet. There was a strong odor, of what seemed to be a pet- roleum product. See Drawing "B" for layout of former tank and piping. Approx- imately 46 cubic yards of the above excavated soil was then removed in an attempt to determine the length and breadth of the contamination. Excavation was stopped when it was obvious that a larger piece of equipment was going to be needed to affect a clean-up. T04's I)D+ Soil sample analysis results showed elevated levels of TVPH and organic lead.Ctde&L&,, Enclosed is a copy of Canonie Environmental Laboratory report #85-052-5521 , dated November 21 , 1988, and Drawing "C" showing location of the original sample sites and the results. 4. Laboratory that will collect samples: Canonie Environmental , (209) 983-1340 A signed "Release of Information Authorization" is enclosed. 5. Re-Excavation and Resample steps: At this time we are requesting a re-excavation and resample. The original excavation is open and the soil is piled on plastic on site and covered with same. We propose to open an excavation 30 feet square, starting 5' south of the original excavation, extending out east .and west 9 feet and from the north boundry 13 feet. We plan to excavate to a depth of 25 feet, hopefully to remove all contaminated soil from, in, and around the excavated area. The newly excavated soil will be stockpiled on site, on plastic and covered with same. We will use an excavator with a reach of approximately 25 feet and do not propose the use of a ramp at this time.
