Advancement of one cone penetrometer testing(CPT) soil boring and one adjacent
twinned sampling boring to approximately 100 feet below ground surface(bgs)to
characterize the hydrogeology and lithology, model potential contaminant migration
pathways, and assess the vertical extent of impacted soil and groundwater. The CPT
boring will be located ten feet down gradient from monitoring well, MW-1.
2. Collection of grab groundwater samples and at least two soil samples from the twinned
boring advanced adjacent to the CPT boring.
3. Soil and groundwater samples will be analyzed for: total petroleum hydrocarbons as
gasoline(TPH-G)and methanol by U. S. Environmental Protection Agency(EPA) SW-
846 method 8015B; total extractable petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel(TEPH-diesel)by
EPA SW-846 method 8015B; benzene,toluene, ethyl benzene,total xylenes(BTEX),
1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), 1,2-dibromoethane(EDB),methyl tertiary-butyl ether
(MTBE), diisopropyl ether(DIPE),tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME), ethyl tertiary-
butyl ether(ETBE),tertiary-butyl alcohol (TBA), and ethanol by EPA SW-846 method
8260B. Please identify surrogates compounds and report all surrogate recoveries for
methods 8015B and 8260B,include associated method blank, laboratory control sample,
and matrix spike results, and include the quality control method limits. Please ensure the
reporting limit for 1,2-DCA is at least 0.5 micrograms per liter(µg/]L) in groundwater.
