t
PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY Z.,
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DIVISION `
Karen Furst, M.D., M.P.H., Health Officer
304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor • Stockton, CA 95202
209/468-3420
FILE COPY
ERIC WEILBURG
FRANK L & JERRE MOORE OCT 0 61999
P O BOX 8307
STOCKTON CA 95208
Re: Moore Truck Lines Site Code: 1701
3400 Newton Rd.
Stockton CA 95205
San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD)
has reviewed the Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report dated September 15,
1999 prepared by Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. for the above referenced site. Soil
and water samples collected at the site evidence contamination. Further investigation of
contamination at this site will be necessary. The vertical definition of contamination in
the soil appears to have been obtained during this phase of the investigation. The lateral
extent of contamination in the groundwater should be determined and the contaminant
concentrations in the groundwater should be evaluated.
Quarterly sampling of the groundwater in MW 1 should be initiated by November 15.
1999. Depending upon the analytical results for groundwater in MW1 the placement of
additional MWs at this site may be necessary. Groundwater samples should be analyzed
for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) by EPA Method 8015; Benzene,
Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Xylene (BTEX) by EPA Method 8020, and Oxygenates by
EPA Method 8260.
A domestic well is located on this site northeast of the previously located underground
storage tanks. This well was not depicted on the site map in the above referenced report.
On site and nearby domestic wells and septic systems should be depicted on all site maps.
Identify wells and septic systems related to this site in the next quarterly sampling report.
A receptor survey of domestic, municipal, agricultural, industrial and any other wells
within 2,000 feet radius of this site should be conducted. Contact the Department of
Water Resources, municipal suppliers and any nearby industries to search for wells.
Perform a physical search of the area to locate wells or other receptor risks. Show
locations of all wells, provide any known construction details and evaluate any pumping
influence with respect to the possibility of contaminant migration and public and/or
environmental health threat.
A Well Receptor Survey for the above referenced site should be submitted to PHS/EHD
by November 15, 1999.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
