Vicki McCartney [EH]
From: William Little [wlittle@advgeoenv.com]
Sent: Friday, February 13, 2009 2:18 PM
To: Vicki McCartney[EH]
Cc: rmarty@advgeoenv.com
Subject: GEO_REPORT Submittal #4947438120 : T0607700863 Has Been Denied
Attachments: MTL GWE Q408 Figure 3 V2.pdf
MTL GWE Q408
Figure 3 V2.pdf(...
Vicki,
It is not your job to reinterpret data presented within a geologic report.
The report is presented as a prepared, with the responsibility for interpretation on the
signing agent.
Therefore my interpretation of the data is submitted. I have the responsibility to decide
which wells are used to make geologic interpretations, and why the data is questionable
and therefore utilized.
Attached is a site figure of the ground water data from fourth quarter 2008 utilizing two
interpretations.
The ground water flow is presented in blue, using the wells which have always had
significant ground water for measurements (historical wells) .
This data is collected from wells which have approximately 7-8 feet of ground water
exposed to the screens. The alternate ground water flow direction utilizes a mixture of
wells as presented in red; which include the shallow well screens (MW-5, MW-6, MW-7 and
MW-8) which have only 2 .5 feet to
3 feet of ground water; and further do not screen exposed the dominant sand unit which is
representative across the site. This well construction was at your office' s direction (no
greater than 70 feet bsg) and these wells were dry in the third quarter of 2008;
Additionally, these well fail to produce the minimum full purge volume during the
monitoring procedures or drawdown during the monitoring procedures. Therefore, these well
would marginally represent the upper ground water table.
As depicted in the attached map the ground water flow directions are: west between wells
MW-7 and MW-2; north between wells MW-3 and MW-8 or MW-5 and
MW-2 AND north between wells MW-6 and MW-7; south between wells MW-7 and MW-6; and south
to southeast between wells MW-2, MW-8 and MW-8; and the map depicts the ground water flow
direction east from well MW-5 to MW-8.
The denial of report based on your estimation is not appropriate, based on your statement.
I feel you have wasted time by denying the report submission to geotracker over this
element of the report.
William Little
California Professional Geologist #7473
wlittle@advgeoenv.com
1 (800) 511-9300
Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc.
837 Shaw Road
Stockton, Califorina, 95215
1 (209) 467-1118 facsimile
1
