Vicki McCartney [EH]
From: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Sent: Wednesday, May 14, 2008 2:10 PM
To: 'Kirk Larson'
Cc: Nuel Henderson [EH]
Subject: RE: Site Reviews
Kirk:
The site at 15 Grant Line Road, Tracy, has an MTBE plume that is not defined to the west and north of the
source area. The most current report for first quarter 2008 indicates that the most impacted monitoring well,
MW-5, has an MTBE concentration of 97 ug/L. Additional investigation is needed to define the plume. (During a
site investigation in December 2004, the consulting firm handling this site was denied access to advance one
CPT boring on the adjacent property to the north of this site.)
The site at 3400 Newton Road, Stockton, had MTBE reported in monitoring well MW-1 at concentrations as high
as 630 ug/L in June of 2007. This well is screened between 44 and 64 feet below surface grade (bsg) and
depth-to-groundwater measurements are currently at approximately sixty-two feet bsg. As a result, MW-1 can
not be sampled each quarter. There is one domestic well onsite and a number of domestic wells nearby. Our
department has just approved the installation of four monitoring wells, three wells screened between 55 and 70
feet bsg, and one well screened between 60 and 70 feet bsg. Our department has also approved a forty-eight-
hour groundwater extraction pilot test.
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
600 East Main Street
Stockton, California 95202
Phone: (209) 468-9852
Fax: (209) 468-3433
Email: vmccartney_@sjcehd.com
From: Kirk Larson [mailto:KTLarson@waterboards.ca.gov]
Sent: Wednesday, May 14, 2008 12:52 PM
To: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Cc: Margaret Lagorio [EH]
Subject: Site Reviews
Good afternoon Vicki:
I am conducting Five Year Reviews of the following site for the Cleanup Fund. In your opinion, briefly,
what is the status of these investigations/ cleanups? Thanks, KTL
15 Grant Road E,Tracy
3400 Newton Road, Stockton
Kirk T.
