In general, the wastewater treatment plant was
clean and well maintained. Because of continued low flow, the treated wastewater is being discharged to
the emergency storage basin which is acting as a evaporation/percolation pond. A site inspection
photograph log is enclosed with this letter.
The following observations were made during the site inspection:
• All wastewater is being discharged to the return activated sludge plant. Effluent from the aeration
basin is clarified, filtered by sand, and discharged to the evaporation/percolation pond.
• Limited odor was noted while on the catwalk above the return activated sludge plant. There were
no objectionable odors noted at the evaporation/percolation pond.
• The freeboard in the pond was acceptable.
• Wasted sludge from the return activated sludge treatment process is discharged to sludge drying
and bagging equipment.
• The wastewater screen is manually raked every day. Screenings are transported to a landfill for
disposal.
If you have any questions on this information, please telephone me at (916) 255-3116.
_
TIMOTHY R.
