information represents only the statement by the Agency as to <br /> the character of materials which has been actually encountered <br /> by it in its investigation , and is only included for the <br /> convenience of bidders. <br /> Investigations of subsurface conditions are made for the <br /> ' purpose of design, and the Agency assumes no responsibility <br /> whatever in respect to the sufficiency or accuracy of borings <br /> or of the log of test borings or other preliminary <br /> investigations, or of the interpretation thereof, and there is <br /> ' no guaranty, either expressed or implied , that the conditions <br /> indicated are representative of those existing throughout the <br /> work, or any part of it, or that unanticipated conditions may <br /> ' not occur . When a log of test borings is included in the plans , <br /> it is expressly understood and agreed that said log of test <br /> borings does not constitute a part of the contract and <br /> represents only an opinion of the Agency as to the character of <br /> the materials to be encountered and is included in the plans <br /> only for the convenience of the bidders . Making such <br /> information available to bidders is not to be construed in any <br /> way as a waiver of the provisions of the first paragraph of <br /> this Section and bidders must satisfy themselves through their <br /> own investigations as to conditions to be encountered. <br /> G2.02 Addenda or Bulletins. The correction of any discrepancies in <br /> or omissions from the drawings , specifications , or other <br /> contract document, of any interpretation thereof, during the <br /> bidding period will be made only by an addendum or bulletin. A <br /> copy of each such addendum or bulletin will be mailed or <br /> delivered to each person receiving a set of these documents and <br /> shall be made a part of the contract. Any other interpretation <br /> or explanation of such documents will not be considered <br /> binding. <br /> G2.03 Estimated Quantities. The quantities given on the plans , in <br /> the proposal , and on contract forms are approximate , being <br /> given as a basis for the comparison of bids only , and the <br /> Agency does not , expressly or by implication, agree that the <br /> actual amount of work will correspond therewith , but reserves <br /> the right to increase or decrease the quantity of any item or <br /> portion of the work , or to omit any item or portion of the <br /> work, as may be deemed advisable or necessary by the Engineer . <br /> G2. 04 Proposal. The proposal shall be made on the form provided, <br /> with all items filled out, and properly executed. The proposal <br /> shall be signed in longhand; by the bidder if an individual, by <br /> a member of a partnership, or by an officer of a corporation <br /> 1 authorized to sign contracts in its behalf . If made by a <br /> corporation , the proposal shall show the name of the state <br /> under the laws of which the corporation is chartered or <br /> organized. <br /> G-5 <br />
