7. CONTAMINATION DISTRIBUTION
A. SOIL
1 . VERTICAL DISTRIBUTION
Based on the work reported by HUNTER and JPCA, the first five
feet of soil has no detectable hydrocarbon contamination. The
reported hydrocarbon contamination in the soil was detected
between approximately five and twenty feet below surface level .
2 . LATERAL DISTRIBUTION
The area outlined in Fiure 5 for soil contamination is
approximately 16 , 300 ft .
The calculated volume of contaminated soil is approximately
244, 500 ft3.
A. WATER
I. VERTICAL DISTRIBUTION
Based on the work reported by HUNTER and JPCA, the reported
hydrocarbon contamination in the groundwater was detected between
approximately ten and twenty feet below surface level, the
aquifer is approximately 95% solids.
2 . LATERAL DISTRIBUTION
The area outlined in Fiure 6 for groundwater contamination is
approximately 15 , 800 fty.
The calculated volume of the contaminated groundwater aquifer is
approximately 158, 000 ft3. The groundwater volume is
approximately 7, 900 ft3.
9
u
