10. FILE CLOSURE RATIONAL
Potable water is distributed to the homes and farms within a
2 , 000 foot radius of the subject site by the Pescadore Water
District. The single reported well, approximately 1, 900 feet
south of the site, has not reported any contamination.
Attenuation by natural biodegradation of the remaining
hydrocarbon contaminants should remediate both the soil and the
contaminant plume in the shallow aquifer in a few years.
There appears to be no risk to public health or the groundwater
of the state.
No MTBE was detected in the soil or groundwater in the last
sampling event .
The reported concentrations of TPHG and BTEX remaining in both
the soil and groundwater have decreased significantly over the
last 90 months.
The calculated values of TPHG and BTEX remaining in the soil is
19 . 9, 0. 0, 0 . 018, 0 . 21 and 0 .46 PPM respectively.
The calculated values of TPHG and BTEX remaining in the
groundwater .is 0 . 15 , 0 . 003 , 0. 0003 , 0 004 and 0 0001 FPM
respectively.
The calculated gradient historically is generally SSE at 0 012
ft/ft. The irrigation ditches around the area have water in
them. The local groundwater recharge conditions via rain,
irrigation and slough depths are most likely the main influences
on the gradient.
JPCA strongly recommends that this site have "File Closure".
If you have any questions, please call us.
Sincerely,
John P.
