09 December 1996 j
AGE Project No. 96-0263
milligrams per kilogram (refereed to as parts per million). BTE&X and MTBE compounds were
detected as high as 430 ppm xylene and 770 ppm of MTBE. Total lead was detected at
background levels.
However, chlorinated hydrocarbons were not detected .in soil sample analyzed by EPA method
8240. The high solvent odor noted during the UST removal was likely associated with the fuel
additive MTBE and other oxygenates currently used to augment fuels. Total lead was detected in .
the soil samples at background levels. (MAI Laboratory numbers 74748 to 70754)
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact our office at (209) 956-0264.
Sincerely,
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
William Little
Staff Geologist
Enclosures cc: Mr. Jerry Yoshioka PHS-EHD
