Procedures for installation and operation of the ozone sparging Ili system are described below. 7.2. IOS DURATION Sufficient data is not available to accurately predict the duration necessary to mitigate a site using ozone sparging as the remedial alternative.Mitigation duration is site specific.However,a reduction efficiency model will be developed during the first six-months of operation based on in-situ dissolved oxygen measurement,ground water sampling and MTBE-concentration trend analysis over the entire sparging time frame. �- 8.0. SCOPE OF WORK The scope of work will consist of the following tasks: • Permitting, planning and pre-field work activities; �. • Drilling and installation of sixteen shallow and two deep ozone sparge wells; • Installation of an ozone sparge system; and �• • Preparation of a report of findings. Each of these tasks are discussed below in detail. 8.1. PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES Site boring permit applications will be submitted to the EHD. As required by EHD permitting, an L. updated health and safety plan will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 1985). i- Prior to initiation of drilling, each proposed drilling location will be clearly marked and utility clearance obtained through Underground Service Alert.The EHD will be notified a minimum of 48 hours prior to commencement of any work.
