• Site Background Information Tracy Marine Sales Page 4 of 4 samples analyzed In March 2001, four soil borings(CPT-1 through CPT-4)were advanced at the site to a depth of 60 feet bsg Grab ground water samples were collected from each boring Soil samples were collected at 35 and 44 feet bsg from CPT-2 and at 30 feet bsg from CPT-3 All samples were analyzed for TPH-g, BTEX, MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, TAME, TBA, EDB and 1,2-DCA • TPH-g was not detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the water samples collected from CPT-1 through CPT-4 BTEX compounds were detected in the water sample collected from CPT-2 at a depth of 39 to 43 feet bsg at concentrations of 1 0 microgram per liter(gg/l) benzene, 13 gg/l toluene, 0 60 µg/1 ethylbenzene and 2 1 µg/1 total xylenes Benzene was detected in the water sample collected from CPT-1 at a depth of 38 to 42 feet bsg at a concentration of 0 67 jig/1 • MTBE was detected by EPA Method 8020 in the sample from CPT-2 at 39 to 43 feet bsg at a concentrations of 5 8 gg/l MTBE was confirmed by EPA Method 8260 in the same sample at a concentrations of 4 1 gg/l No other fuel oxygenated compounds were detected in the ground water sample analysis • TPH-g was not detected in any of the soil samples collected BTEX compounds were detected in the soil sample collected from CPT-2 at 44 feet bsg at concentrations of 0 0060 mg/kg benzene, 0 012 mg/kg toluene, 0 0053 mg/kg ethylbenzene and 0 022 mg/kg total xylenes MTBE was detected by EPA Method 8260 in the same sample at 0 029 mg/kg No other fuel oxygenates were detected in the soil sample analysis • The subsurface from surface grade to approximately 60 feet bsg,based on the findings from the CPT soil borings, is generally comprised mainly of silt, sandy silt, clayey silt, silty clay and clay Poorly graded sand, gravelly sand and silty sand were encountered from approximately 12 feet to 16 feet, 19 feet to 20 5 feet and 39 feet to 40 feet bsg in boring CPT- 1, from 13 feet to 17 feet and 37 feet to 43 feet bsg in boring CPT-2,from 12 feet to 25 5 feet and 39 feet to 42 feet bsg in boring CPT-3 and from 40 feet to 43 feet bsg in boring CPT-4 In March 2001,three ground water monitoring wells(MW-9 through MW-11)were installed on-site A total of 7 soil samples were analyzed for TPH-g, BTEX, MTBE, EDB, 1,2-DCA and the suite of five fuel additives by EPA Method 8260 Modified None of the analytes were detected in the selected soil samples • Generally, light brown to brown, moist to saturated, silty clay was encountered in the pilot borings at approximately 5 feet, 10 feet and 20 feet bsg Light brown,saturated silty sand was encountered at 11 feet bsg and dark brown, saturated, poorly graded sand was encountered at 15 feet bsg Lines of section are illustrated in the AGE-prepared Monitoring Well Installation and Quarterly Report-First Quarter 2001, dated 15 June 2001 Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
