INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr Joe Toste, Jr , Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this <br /> quarterly report for the property located at 2353 Toste Road, Tracy, California The site and the <br /> surrounding area are illustrated on Figure 1 On-site structures,boring locations and monitoring well <br /> locations are illustrated on Figure 2 Background information is summarized in the AGE-prepared <br /> Additional Site Assessment Work Plan, dated 26 September 2000 <br /> 2.0. PROCEDURES <br /> I On 24 and 30 January 2004, ten ozone sparge wells were installed at the site and the ozone sparge <br /> piping system was installed on 06 and 07 March 2004 Eleven ground water monitoring wells <br /> (MW-1 through MW-11)were purged and sampled on 27 March 2004 Field work was performed <br /> in accordance with guidelines issued by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> (CVRWQCB) for the investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites <br /> 21 In-Situ OZONE SPARGE SYSTEM INSTALLATION <br />' Eight shallow-screened and two deep-screened in-situ ozone sparge(IOS)wells were installed at the <br /> site and the system distribution piping was installed during the first quarter 2004 <br /> 2 1 1 Ozone Sparge Well Installation <br /> P <br />' On 24 and 30 January 2004,eight soil borings were advanced at the site using a CME-75 high torque <br /> drill rig equipped with 8 25-inch diameter hollow-stem augers to install IOS wells OS-1 through <br />' OS-10 The drill rig and two-man crew were supplied by Mitchell Drilling Environmental Auger <br /> returns generated by drilling were stored in properly labeled Department of Transportation(DOT)- <br /> approved model 17H 55-gallon drums pending laboratory analysis Soil samples were not collected <br /> IPilot bonngs were completed as IOS wells using manufacturer-assembled 2-inch by 30-inch <br /> microporous sparge points from approximately 17 5 to 20 feet bsg for shallow wells OS-1 through <br /> OS-8 and from 41 5 to 44 feet bsg for deep wells OS-3 and OS-4, wells were completed with blank <br /> casing extended to the surface The filter pack (No 2116 Monterey sand) was installed from total <br /> depth of each boring to approximately 2 feet above the sparge point A nominal 2-foot bentonite chip <br />' plug was then installed above the filter pack and hydrated The wells were then grouted to near <br /> surface grade with portland cement Water-tight, traffic-rated well boxes were then installed over <br /> the wells As-built well diagrams are included as Appendix A Ozone well locations are illustrated <br /> IAdvanced CeoFnvironmental,Inc <br />
