PROCEDURES <br /> I Eleven ground water monitoring wells (MW 1 through MW 11) were purged and sampled in <br /> September 2002 Field work was performed in accordance with guidelines issued by the Central <br /> Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for the investigation of underground <br /> Istorage tank (UST) sites <br /> I2 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION <br /> On 26 September 2002, a Sohnst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water <br /> Iin eleven wells (MWI through MW11) relative to the tops of the well casings The ground water <br /> elevations and gradient were determined from these data(Table 1) <br /> IAfter recording water level measurements, disposable plastic bailers were used to purge the wells <br /> of standing water Approximately 6 0 to 6 5 gallons of water(a minimum of 3 casing-water volumes <br /> I per well) were removed from wells MWI, MW3, MW7, MW9, MW10 and MW11 Monitoring <br /> well MW6 was purged of approximately 13 gallons of water and approximately 3 0 gallons of water <br /> were removed from wells MW2,MW4,MW5 and MW8 before the wells were pumped dry Ground <br /> water temperature,pH and conductivity were measured at regular intervals during purging using an <br /> Oakton water analyzer Field sheets and data are included in Appendix A Purged water was stored <br /> on-site in labeled, 55-gallon Department of Transportation (DOT)-approved drums <br /> I <br /> 2 2 COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> IWater samples were collected from the purged wells using new disposable plastic bailers after <br /> allowing the wells to achieve a minimum 80%recovery of the pre-purge water volume Each water <br /> I <br /> i <br /> I <br /> I <br />
