' 07 January 2002 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 96-0263 <br />' Page 3 of 7 <br />' 3 2 WELL DRILLING AND SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION <br /> AGE proposes to advance two pilot bonngs for the installation of one ground water extraction <br /> (GWE) well and one observation (OB) well The proposed ground extraction well will be located <br /> approximately 5 feet west of monitoring well MW-7 and the proposed OB well will be located 10 <br /> feet west of the GWE well The proposed well locations are illustrated in Figure 2 <br /> The proposed GWE and OB wells will be advanced to approximately 20 feet bsg utilizing a truck- <br /> mounted,hollow stem drill ng equipped with 12-inch diameter and 8 25-inch diameter hollow-stem <br />' augers The total depth of the borings may vary according to site conditions encountered during <br /> drilling The Proposed well locations are depicted in Figure 2 Well installation procedures are <br /> described in Section 4 1 <br />' Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals beginning at 5 feet bsg to the total depth of the <br /> pilot bonngs Selected soil samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health <br />' Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for <br />� . • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA <br /> Method 8015 Modified, <br /> • Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) and methyl-tert-butyl ether <br />' (MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 8020 and, <br /> • Oxygenating fuel additives tertiary butyl alcohol(TBA),di-isopropyl ether(DIPE),MTBE, <br /> ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), ethylene dibromide <br /> (EDB) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) by EPA Method 8260 modified <br />' Additionally,one selected soil sample will be sent to BioJet Laboratories,Inc in lone to be analyzed <br /> for physicochemical properties and microbiological enumeration <br />' Laboratory reports for the soil analyses,testing methods,laboratory quality assurance/quality control <br /> (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with <br /> findings and recommendations <br /> 3 3 WELL COMPLETION AND DEVELOPMENT <br /> Following completion of the pilot bonngs, a six-inch diameter ground water extraction well will be <br /> installed in the 12-inch diameter pilot boring and a two-inch diameter observation well will be <br /> installed in the 8 25-inch diameter pilot boring The wells will be completed with 15 feet of well <br /> screen section The well screen section will be installed across the observed water table level with <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
