 • i
I07 January 2002
AGE-NC Protect No 96-0263
IPage 7 of 7
I A constant ground water pumping rate for the aquifer pump test will be determined from the results
of the 8-hour step pump test and available storage for produced water The ground water will be
extracted utilizing a submersible, 4-inch diameter Grundfos Rediflow self-priming submersible
I pump The ground water pumping rate will be increased at regular intervals to achieve the optimum
pumping rate for the greatest drawdown influence During pumping, the ground water extraction
flow rate will vary between one and six gallons per minute If the decline of the ground water level
' is not satisfactory within the first eight hours of the pilot test, an additional testing will be performed
to achieve sufficient ground water drawdown
' The 12-hour drawdown test will be conducted at a constant rate determined by the results of the
8-hour test and the available storage or handling capacity for produced ground water Results of the
12-hour pilot test will be utilized to assess the feasibility of ground water extraction at the site
' All extracted groundwater will be stored in a temporary, above-ground (Baker-type), storage tank
Ground water samples will be collected from the effluent line during the 12-hour pump test
' approximately 6 hours after pumping is initiated and lust before ending the pump test The samples
will be collected into four 40-m1 EPA-approved VOA vials for analysis for TPH-g,BTEX, MTBE,
TBA, TAME, DIPE, ETRE, EDB and 1,2-DCA by EPA Methods 8015M, 8020 and 8260,
respectively The purged ground water will be transported to a suitable non-hazardous waste
disposal/recycling facility
I
45 SAMPLE SHIPMENT
Following collection the samples will be appropnately labeled and placed on ice and kept in a cooler
until delivered to the laboratory for analysis Chain-of-custody protocols will be used to document
sample custody transfer from the field to the analytical laboratory A chain-of-custody form will
accompany the samples
4 6 EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION
All sampling tools used for sample collection will be thoroughly rinsed with clean water after being
washed with a solution of Alconox All down-hole drilling and sampling equipment will be pressure
washed prior to starting the boring
I
I
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
