i A Mr.William Rauch April 30. 1996 Page 5 CONCLUSIONS Soil encountered in borings between the surface and 9 feet below grade in soil borings SB-1 and SB- 2 consist of dark olive brown, moist,moderately plastic-silty clay. Ground water was encountered at a depth of approximately 9 feet below grade. Petroleum staining was not observed in any of the soil samples recovered. Laboratory analyses of collected soil and ground water samples indicate that neither TPHg, BTEX, nor organochlorine pesticides were present at detectable concentrations. The lack of' staining and detectable concentrations of petroleum constituents and organochlorine pesticides indicate that soil and ground water conditions at the two locations explored do not warrant additional delineation or remediation. Given that the Scope of Services'�for this investigation was limited and that additional exploratory borings were not drilled, it is possible that currently unrecognized contamination may exist at the site. Services performed by PEM were conducted in a manner consistent with'that of the same care and skill ordinarily exercised by members of the same profession currently practicing in the same locality under the same conditions. it is important to recognize that even the most comprehensive scope of services may fail to detect environmental liabilities on a particular site. Therefore, PEM cannot act as insurers and cannot"certify"that a site is free of environmental contamination.
