r29 March 2001
• AGE-NC Project No 97-0249
' plume The area of greatest dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon-impact was observed in the
area near MW-3 (Figure 4)
• Elevated concentrations of dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in the samples
' collected from well MW-6,the TPH-g isoconcentration contour map(Figure 4) may indicate
a second plume of dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons in the area of MW-6
' • Laboratory results of the grab water sample collected from DW-1 indicate that there is no
MTBE-impact to the Three B's Truck Plaza domestic drinking water well at this time,
however, MTBE has consistently been detected in the Rocky's Restaurant dnnking water
' well since February 1999 (Table 4)
' 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
' Based upon data collected dunng March 2001, AGE recommends
1 Continued quarterly ground water monitoring at wells MW-1 through MW-6, the next
quarterly ground water monitoring event is tentatively scheduled for June 2001
2 Continued coordination of quarterly ground water sampling events with Flag City Chevron
' 3 Additional ground water investigation is warranted to assess the vertical and horizontal
extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted ground water at the site AGE recommends at
least five additional CPT soil borings to assess the vertical and horizontal extent of
hydrocarbon-impacted ground water at the site
4 Installation of additional shallow- and deep-screened ground water monitoring wells based
' on the findings of the existing shallow ground water monitoring wells and CPT soil borings,
the screen intervals for the deep-screened monitoring wells will be placed to define and
monitor the horizontal extent of the ground water plume in each informal hydrologic unit
' 5 Conduct a ground water pump test to obtain general aquifer characteristics such as hydraulic
conductivity, transmissivity, storativity and drawdown at various pumping rates Results of
the pump test would be utilized to estimate a radius of influence for the zone of capture of
dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons
6.0 LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
Advanced GeoEnvzronmental,Inc
