10 October 2000
AGE-NC Project No 97-0249
I Additional vertical soil and ground water assessment is warranted at the site AGE proposes
to drill three cone penetrometer testing(CPT) soil borings to characterize the vertical extent
of hydrocarbon-impacted ground water at the site One CPT soil boring should be located
between the former UST pit and the northwesterly fuel dispenser island area, a second CPT
soil boring should be located near the easterly fuel dispenser island area, the third CPT soil
boring should be located near the domestic water well DW-1 Proposed CPT soil boring
Ilocations are depicted in Figure 2
• Installation of deep-screened ground water monitoring wells based on the findings of the
proposed CPT soil borings, the screen Intervals for the deep-screened monitoring wells will
be placed to define and monitor the vertical extent of the ground water plume
• Installation of additional shallow-screened ground water monitoring wells south, southwest,
west, northwest, north and northeast of the current area bound by wells MW-1 through MW-
6 to assess the lateral extent of the dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon plume (See Figure 2)
• Continued quarterly ground water monitoring, the next quarterly ground water monitoring
event is tentatively scheduled for November 2000
• Continued utilization of wells MW-1 through MW-6 for characterization of ground water
conditions at the site
• Continued coordinated quarterly ground water sampling events with Flag City Chevron
I6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an Independent laboratory Evaluations of the geologic/hydro-
geologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited number
of available data points (e g ground water samples), and subsurface conditions may vary away from
these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional
recommendations contained in this report
I
I
I
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
