INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr Andy Zarakanl,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this <br /> Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan for the site located at 14749 North Thornton Road, Lodi, <br /> California(site) The location of the site is illustrated on Figure I -Location Map A plan of the site <br />' is illustrated on Figure 2 - Site Plan <br /> The San Joaquin County Public Health Services -Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD)has <br /> directed the preparation of a work plan to assess petroleum hydrocarbon impacts related to the <br /> storage and distribution of gasoline and diesel at the site This work plan is prepared in accordance <br /> with PHS-EHD and Central Valley Regional Water QualityControl Board(CVRWQCB)guidelines <br /> for the investigation of underground storage tanks (UST) sites <br /> The purpose of the proposed investigation is to evaluate potential petroleum hydrocarbon impacts <br /> to shallow and deep ground water beneath the site This Work Plan provides a description of the <br /> scope of work and procedures for cone penetrometer testing (CPT) soil boring advancement, grab <br /> I ground water sample collection and analysis, and installation and sampling of ground water <br /> monitoring wells <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located at 14749 North Thornton Road, approximately 100-feet northwest of the <br /> intersection of Capital Avenue and Thomton Road, Lodi, San Joaquin County, California (Figure <br /> 1) The site is further described as being located within the southeast quarter of Section 11, <br /> I Township 3 North, Range 5 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian (Terminous Quadrangle, 7 5- <br /> Minute USGS Topographic Series, 1978) <br /> The property is currently utilized as a mini-mart and truck stop dispensing,gasoline and diesel fuels ' <br /> Property east of the site is primarily commercial, property north, south and west of the site is <br /> agricultural <br /> 2 1 PREVIOUS SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION <br /> On 23 September 1997 and 19 August 1998 a total of soil robe borings P1 throw P9 were <br /> eP � � p g ( � ) <br />' advanced at the site to assess the lateral and vertical extent of impacted soil A total of 19 soil <br /> samples collected during the investigation were submitted for laboratory analysis Total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline(TPH-g)was detected in analyzed samples at concentrations up <br /> Ito 3,200 mg/kg (milligrams per kilogram or parts per million ppm), TPH as diesel (TPH-d) was <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> I <br />
