' 28 August 2000
AGE-NC Project No 97-0249
' EPA Method 8260 modified for tertiary butanol(TBA),di-isopropyl ether(RIPE), ethyl tert
butyl ether(ETBE) and tert amyl methyl ether (TAME), and MTBE
Laboratory reports for ground water analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality
control(QA/QC)reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report
with the findings and recommendations
3 6 REPORT PREPARATION
Following each quarterly ground water monitoring event, a quarterly report will be prepared
presenting the findings The quarterly reports will include a description of work performed and the
results of the soil and groundwater sampling and analysis Conclusions and recommendations will
also be included in the reports, if applicable The report will be in a format acceptable to the PHS-
EHD and the CVRWQCB, and will be reviewed and signed by a California Registered Geologist
lie 4.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California
Registered Geologist Procedures for the monitoring well installation, well development, ground
water sampling, soil sampling, equipment decontamination and sample shipment are outlined below
4 1 CPT DRILLING AND GRAB GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION
CPT soil borings will be advanced to depths of 70 feet bsg utilizing a 25-ton truck-mounted CPT
drill ng equipped with 2-inch diameter hollow-stem rods The first soil boring will utilize a hydraulic
ram to advance a cone penetrometer to the desired depth Soil parameters such as cone beanng,'
sleeve friction, friction ration and pore water pressure will be measured as the cone penetrometer is
advanced Rinseate generated during drilling activities will be containerized in properly labeled
D O T 55-gallon drums, and stored on-site in an area lacking public access Disposal alternatives
will be evaluated at a later date based on laboratory results of rnnseate
A second soil boning will be located adjacent the first CPT boring for ground water sample
collection Based on CPT findings, discrete grab ground water samples will be collected in intervals
of porous and permeable material beginning at a depth of 20 feet bsg A HydroPunch sample tool
iwill be pushed into the specified zone, then withdrawn approximately three feet to expose an inlet
screen The interior of the sampling tool fills with water and a 1-inch outer diameter(O D )stainless
steel bailer will be lowered and utilized to extract a ground water sample Grab ground water samples
i
Advanced GeoEnvironniental,Inc
i
