Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br /> September 1997 <br /> THREE B'S TRUCK PLAZA <br /> 14749 Thornton Road, Lodi, Califoi nia <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with the request of Mr Andy Zarakani of Three B's Truck Plaza, Advai7ced <br /> GeoEnvironmentaI, Inc , (AGE) has prepared this Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br /> (PIER) for 14749 Thornton Road (the site), Lodi, California The scope of work included the <br /> advancement of four soil probe borings and the collection and analysis of soil and ground water <br /> samples The location of the site and its surroundings are illustrated on Figure 1 - Location Map <br /> Mayor features on the site and soil probe boring locations are illustrated on Figure 2 - Site Plan <br /> Tl-us investigation was performed in accordance with the guidelines of both the San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services -Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and the Central Valley Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board for the investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites <br /> 20 BACKGROUND <br /> C GROUND <br /> 2 1 SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION <br /> The site is located at 14749 North Thornton Road, approximately 100 feet northwest of the <br /> intersection of Capital Avenue and Thornton Road, Lodi, San Joaquin County, California (Figure 1) <br /> The site is located within the southeast quarter of Section 11, Township 3 North, Range 5 East, <br /> Mount Diablo Base and Meridian (Terminous Quadrangle, 7 5-Minute USGS Topographic Series, <br /> 1975) <br /> The property is currently utilized as a Texaco gasoline dispensing station/mini-market and truck stop <br /> Property east of the site is primarily commercial, property north, south and west of the site is <br /> agricultural <br /> I <br /> 22 REGIONAL GEOLOGIC SETTING <br /> According to Geolo 7c Ma o California 1966 California Department of Conservation Division <br /> S p .� ( p <br /> of Mines and Geology), the site area is within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province (GVGP) of <br /> California, a large, elongate, northwest trending structural trough The GVGP is subdivided into two <br /> major divisions designated the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys, which have been filled to the <br /> present elevation with thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic to present day, <br /> creating a nearly flat-lying alluvial plain extending from the Tehachapi Mountains in the south to the <br /> Klamath Mountains in the north The western and eastern boundaries of this province are comprised <br /> of the California Coast Range and the Sierra Nevada, respectively <br /> Ad)arced GeoEm trow;tent ii,Ire <br /> I <br />
