TRI-VALLEY GROWERS PLANT NO. 4 2 17 May 1990
REVIEW OF REVISED WORKPLAN MEMO
The monitoring wells will be developed using a pneumatic pump and new polyethylene
tubing until the water removed is cleared of fines or 10 well volumes have been
removed. Prior to collecting ground water samples, the monitoring wells will be purged
by removing at least three well volumes with either a teflon bailer or a pneumatic
pump. Once turbidity, conductivity, Ph, and temperature have stabilized ground water
samples from each well will be analyzed for the following:
Chemical Oxygen Demand
Total Dissolved Solids
Nitrates
Total Nitrogen
Ph
Electrical Conductivity
The monitoring wells shall be sampled monthly and the sample frequency may be reduced
once ground water quality has been characterized. Additionally, the top of each well
casing will be surveyed to the nearest 0.01 foot to determine water table elevations
in each well . The water level data will be used to determine the hydraulic gradient
and ground water flow direction.
In summary, the revised workplan is adequate and appears to be able to meet its stated
objectives. The geologic, hydrologic, and water chemistry data will be integrated and
presented in a Hydrologic Characterization Report which will be prepared under the
supervision of a California Registered Geologist and Civil Engineer.
RAE:ej
