SECOR <br /> • International Incorporated <br /> October 23, 2001 <br /> Project 077 43505 103 <br /> t-_ <br /> Mr Harlin Knoll <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division `i <br /> 304 East Webber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> a <br /> Stockton, California 95202 <br /> Re Site Assessment Report and Work Plan for Further Assessment <br /> r.� <br /> Chevron Service Station 9-3232 <br /> 8660 Lower Sacramento Road <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Knoll <br /> SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR), on behalf of Chevron Products Company <br /> (Chevron), presents this report of the results of assessment activities performed at the above- <br /> referenced site (Figure 1) The purpose of the site assessment was to further delineate the <br /> lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in groundwater beneath the site Nine cone <br /> penetration testing (CPT) borings were advanced to assess soil stratigraphy Adjacent to <br /> each CPT boring, a second direct-push borehole was advanced to collect groundwater <br /> samples A water well search, performed to identify any potential sensitive receptors near <br /> the site, is also summarized in this report Based on the findings of these site assessment <br /> activities, SECOR proposes a work plan herein for further assessment at the site <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The site is an operating Chevron Service Station located at the southeast corner of Lower <br /> Sacramento Road and Ponce de Leon Avenue in Stockton, California Current station <br /> facilities include a station building, car wash, four product islands under a common canopy, <br /> and three gasoline underground storage tanks in a common excavation The station features <br /> are illustrated in Figure 2 Additional site investigation information pertinent to this <br /> assessment is summarized in Attachment A <br /> ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES AND FINDINGS <br /> On August 3, 0, and 7, 2001, a SECOR representative supervised Gregg Drilling & Testing, <br /> Inc (Gregg) of Martinez, California, as they advanced direct push borings at nine locations <br /> (CPT-1 through CPT-9) around the site to assess soil stratigraphy and to collect discrete <br /> groundwater samples The CPT locations are shown in Figure 2 Each CPT boring was <br /> 3017 Kilgore Road, Suite 100, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 916 861 0400 916 861 0430 Fax www secor com <br />
