A liquid, most likely fuel, was found at the diesel STP sump and the 91 fill sump. In the diesel STP
sump, there was liquid at both sides at the bottom of the saddle totally approximately a quart. In the 91
fill sump, approximately 2 cups of liquid was found at one end of the saddle where the liquid detection
sensor sits. There was insufficient amount of liquid to trigger liquid detection sensors for either product.
All primary containment must be impervious to the liquid and vapor of the substance contained.
Immediately discontinue use of failed piping and have a properly licensed, trained, and certified
contractor replace or repair the failed piping under permit and inspection of the EHD. If the failed
component can't be replaced immediately, there is a possibility that the diesel and premium UST system
may be red tagged to prevent fuel inputs.
Submit to SJC EHD within 30 days (03/28/13):
1. one copy of the completed "Return to Compliance Certification" form
2. a written corrective action statement how to ensure the sumps will be free of liquid and verifying that
the piping and all penetrations are liquid-tight or how these two sumps will be continuously monitored for
leaks. If UST system will be repaired, submit a permit to SJC EHD.
Notes:
-In 2012, the annual compliance testing was done in March 12.
-In 2013, the annual compliance testing was done in Feb 28.Future annual compliance testing must be
completed within the February calender month.
ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE.
THIS FACILITY IS SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TIME AT EHD'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE.
Inspector d By: Title:
EHD 23-02 Rev 04/19/12 Page 3 UST INSPECTION REPORT
