i <br /> SECOR <br /> international incorporated II <br /> r 1 <br /> I <br /> March 16, 1999 <br /> Project No 7G888-010-03 <br /> 1 <br /> Mr Harlin Knoll j <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue <br /> Stockton, California 95202 <br /> Re Monitoring Well Installation Report <br /> Tosco Service Station 8671 <br /> 8606 Thornton Road <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Knoll <br /> SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR) has prepared this letter on behalf of Tosco <br /> Marketing Company(Tosco) to document the installation of four groundwater <br /> monitoring wells at the site referenced above (Figures 1 and 2) The purpose of tins <br /> work was to evaluate the presence and extent of gasoline hydrocarbons in soil and <br /> groundwater beneath the site in the area of the underground storage tanks (USTs) and <br /> dispensers This work was performed as described in the Work Plan for Site <br /> Assessment, dated November 10, 1998 This work pian was approved by San Joaquin <br /> County Environmental Health Department, as stated in your fax dated December 8, <br /> 1998 <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located at 8606 Thornton Road in Stockton, California The site is an <br /> operating Circle K store that retails gasoline fuel Currently, site facilities include three <br /> gasoline USTs, and associated product lines and dispensers <br /> In May 1998, product lines and dispensers were upgraded to meet 1998 EPA standards i <br /> Analytical results from pea gravel samples collected from above the USTs and soil F <br /> samples collected from the former product line and dispenser excavations indicated the <br /> presence of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil beneath the site The results of this work are <br /> I <br /> documented in SECOR's report Removal and Replacement of Product Lines and i <br /> Dispensers, dated July 22, 1998 During product line and dispenser upgrade activities, <br /> approximately 21 tons of petroleum-impacted soil were over-excavated from the site and <br /> disposed of at Forward Landfill <br /> 9912 Business Park Drive, Suite 100, Sacramento, CA 95827 (916)364-1880(916)364-1889 FAX wuno secor com <br />
