CITY OF TRACY SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA NOTICE INVITING BIDS y SEALED BIDS will be received at the Office of the City Clerk at City Hall, 325 East 101 Street, Tracy, ` California, 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at which time they will be publicly opened and read, for performing work as follows: LEWIS MANOR WELL CONSTRUCTION (PHASE 1)AND DESTRUCTION OF THREE ABANDONED WELLS AND TWO PUMP HOUSES CIP 7502, 7503, & 7535 ,,. Plans and Specifications and Contract Documents are on file in the Office of the City Engineer, 520 South Tracy Boulevard, Tracy, California, where they may be examined. Copies of the Plans and Specifications may V be obtained upon payment of$10.00 per set in person (or$15.00 per set by mail), which is non-refundable. Any questions, call the Development & Engineering Services Department at (209) 831-4600. No bid will be received unless it is made on a Bid Form furnished by the City. The proposal submitted shall be ,r addressed to the City Clerk, City of Tracy, 325 East 10th Street, Tracy, California 95376, and shall be clearly marked as follows: Contractor's Bid: LEWIS MANOR WELL CONSTRUCTION (PHASE I)AND DESTRUCTION OF THREE ABANDONED WELLS AND TWO PUMP HOUSES CIP 7502, 7503, & 7535 Bid Opening:Wednesday May 3 2000 2:00 p.m. (Day) (Date) (Hour) `r All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check, or Bid Bond payable to the order of the City of Tracy amounting to not less than ten (10%) percent of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder, if awarded the Contract, will fulfill the terms of the bid. All bids are to be compared on the basis of the estimated quantities of work to be done. No bidder may withdraw his bid fol- a period of sixty (60) days after the date of opening the bids. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bid or in the bidding. The State Director of the Department of Industrial Relations has established the general prevailing rates of per diem wages and rates for overtime and legal holidays in the locality in which the work is to be performed. No less than said prevailing wages shall be paid for work on this project. ' Pursuant to California Public Contract Code Section 22300, and at the request and expense of the Contractor to whom the Contract is awarded, approved securities shall be permitted in substitution for money withheld by the City to ensure performance under the Contract.
