I:_ 4-k—L .. a.
OIL SPILL CONTINGENCY PLAN
B.1. Purpose
This Oil Spill Contingency Plan is prepared in accordance with 40 CFR 112.7(d) to
address areas of the Maxim Crane Works facility in Stockton, California where secondary
containment does not yet have sufficient capacity to contain releases entirely, as documented in
the facility Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan.
The purpose of this Oil Spill Contingency Plan ("Contingency Plan") is to define
responsibilities and procedures for responding to releases of oil from the Maxim Crane Works
facility that may potential reach navigable waters or adjoining shorelines of the United States.
The Contingency Plan is implemented whenever a discharge of oil has reached, or threatens,
navigable waters or adjoining shorelines.
This plan will be reviewed and immediately amended whenever any of the following
occurs:
• The applicable regulations are revised (i.e., 40 CFR 109 and 112);
• The plan fails in an emergency;
• The facility changes in its design, construction, operation, maintenance, or other
circumstances in a way that materially changes the potential for releases of oil;
• The list of emergency coordinators changes; or
• The list of emergency equipment changes.
Copies of this plan have been distributed to appropriate personnel within Maxim Crane
Works.
B-2
