Postal records indicate that the RWQCB received my letter on
August 7, 2009. Since the RWQCB's receipt of my letter, I have left voicemail messages
for each of you.
As of today, I have yet to receive either a response to my letter or to my follow-up
voicemail messages.
Since my letter of August 5, 2009, two additional households in the vicinity of the Lima
Ranch have contacted us regarding nitrate in domestic supply wells believed to be in
excess of applicable standards—appropriate sampling is being conducted. Also since my
letter of August 5, 2009, we have obtained additional information regarding the "waste
pond" utilized by Lima Ranch for storage of liquefied animal waste.
