o' .e <br /> RET K L I E 1 A E 1 T REPORT <br /> SHELL SERVICE STATION <br /> 3725 TRACY BOULEVARD <br /> TRACY,CALIFORNIA <br /> =# DELTA PROJECT NO. 40-89-012 <br /> �1 INTRODUCTION <br /> Delta Environmental Consultants, Inc.(Delta), is submitting the results of our pretank closure site <br /> assessment for the Shell service station located at 3725 Tracy Boulevard in Tracy, California(site), <br /> as shown in figure 1. This investigation was undertaken to evaluate the presence or absence of <br /> } petroleum constituents in the soils prior to removal and replacement of the existing underground <br /> storage tanks. The results of the investigation indicated the presence of total petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> (TPH)at concentrations of 11.0 and 77.0 parts per million(ppm)in two soil samples collected from <br /> a depth of 11 feet below the ground surface near the existing underground storage tanks. A soil <br /> sample collected near the proposed Iocation of the underground storage tanks had a concentration <br /> l of TPH at 140.0 ppm. <br /> �,i Purtfos� <br /> This pretank closure site assessment was undertaken in order to. <br /> j e Determine whether petroleum hydrocarbons are present in the soils at the bottom of the <br /> - existing tank excavation. <br /> Determine whether the soils at the proposed location of the new underground storage tanks <br /> are free of petroleum hydrocarbons. <br /> Evaluate the need for additional assessment. <br /> Develop a soil management plan for the proposed tank closure. <br /> F s Develop a dewatering plan for the installation of the new tanks. <br /> 1.2 Serene of Work <br /> To achieve the objectives-of the site assessment,-the following activitieswere.con acted:- <br /> Drilled <br /> s :_Drilled four soil borings near the location of the existing underground storage tanks. <br /> Collected soil samples at 5-foot intervals to a depth of either 15 or 20 feet below grade <br /> —~ (see Figure 2 for locations). <br />
