1
1
GEC -PHASE
ENVIRONMENTAL
1 WORK PLAN
1 Soil Boring Installation
1 8700 Thornton Road
Stockton, CA
(APN No.: 072-420-15)
May 18,2011
GPE Project No.639.2
1.0 INTRODUCTION
' The subject property is a commercial parcel in a mostly commercial use area of northern
J P P Y P Y
' Stockton. The parcel is the former site of a gasoline station. The former underground
fuel tanks were removed in the early 1980s, prior to the requirement to collect
confirmation soil samples as part of the tank closure process. As a result, it remains
' unknown whether the tanks might have leaked to impact the surrounding soil. This Work
Plan is intended to collect soil samples from under the original tank pit to determine if a
leak occurred.
1.1 SITE BACKGROUND
The parcel currently is the site of C&C Auto Repair, but was originally developed as a
Sunland gasoline station in 1965. The gasoline station ended operation sometime
between 1975 and 1977, and the current owner purchased the site shortly thereafter. The
current owner reports that he removed the underground fuel tanks in the early 1980s and
they consisted of two 8,000-gallon gasoline tanks and a 4,000-gallon diesel tank. At the
time, there was no requirement to collect confirmation soil samples, and so it remains
unknown whether the former tanks might have leaked. The original gasoline station
building, and the dispenser pump islands are still intact, and the location of the original
' tank pit is indicated by an area of subsided asphalt near the pump islands (see attached
site map).
' 2937 Veneman Ave.,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
