CITY OF ESCALON <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> The City of Escalon wastewater treatment plant is located on the north bank of <br /> the Stanislaus River about 0.5 miles (0.8 km) downstream from McHenry Avenue <br /> Bridge. The city discharges 207,500 gallons per day (9.1 1/sec) of domestic <br /> waste and 282,900 gallons per day (12.4 1/sec) of industrial waste (cannery and <br /> fruit processing) to evaporation and percolation ponds. <br /> The city has 10 acres (4 ha) of domestic ponds and 7.1 acres (3 ha) of industrial <br /> ponds. <br /> Average annual rainfall is 14 inches (36 cm) . Evaporation is 71 inches (180 cm) <br /> per year. <br /> Soil type is sand and silty loam river deposits. Depth to groundwater is about <br /> 25 feet (7.6 m). <br /> 9/26/78 SPD/ap <br />
