VVZO INC <br /> ' The specific procedures which will be used for active soil gas sampling are described <br /> below These procedures are based on operation guidelines provided by Geo robe <br /> Systems Inc These requirements for active soil gas investigations were prepared in <br /> conjunction with the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Los Angeles Region <br /> requirements for active soil gas investigation (March, 1994) <br /> 1 <br /> 32 Equipment Preparation <br /> 1 <br /> WZI will ensure that the sal gas contractor will clean and decontaminate all sampling <br /> ' equipment prior to initiating work and following completion of work in accordance with <br /> California Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Toxic Substances Control and <br /> ' California Regional Water Quality Control Board standard procedures for decontamination <br /> of equipment and personnel <br /> The following specific procedures will be utilized <br /> ' 1 Clean all probes and sampling equipment (expendable points, retractable point <br /> sampler, PRT fittings) prior to use at each sampling location New PRT tubing <br /> ' does not require cleaning prior to use Inspect all probe rods for obstructions or <br /> damaged threads <br /> ' 2 Install clean 0-rings on expendable point or retractable point sampler, and PRT <br /> fittings (if needed for project) <br /> ' 3 If needed for the project, test fit all PRT tubing adapters with all PRT expendable <br /> point holders to assure the threads are compatible and operate smoothly Place <br /> ' tubing clamp onto the tubing to be used and push the PRT tubing adapter onto the <br /> end of the tubing Secure clamp onto the tubing where it meets the PRT adapter <br /> ' 4 Inspect and test the Teflon-lined vacuum pump and vacuum box (if used for <br /> project) Replace and secure tubing and fittings on pump and vacuum box as <br /> ' necessary <br /> APPENDIX III <br /> ' 12270020 025 5 <br />
