VZi INC <br /> ' All drive casing, inner sample barrels, inner rods, and tools will be cleaned with a high <br /> g <br /> ' pressure, hot water washer between holes Sample barrels will be washed with trisodium <br /> phosphate and double rinsed with deionized water between samples collected in the same <br /> hole All rinsate from the cleaning will be contained in 55 gallon drums <br /> Soil samples will be selected for analysis of physical parameters of soil moisture, bulk <br /> density, organic content, and porosity At least two samples per boring will be analyzed <br /> as determined by soil lithology Selected soil samples may be analyzed for VOC's by EPA <br /> method 8260 All soil samples will be delivered to the laboratory with chain of custody <br /> ' documents <br /> iThe site conditions, drilling parameters, sample number, FID readings and lithology will <br /> be recorded on a boring log by the onsite geologist The borings will be backfilled with <br /> bentonite grout after sampling at each location is complete Asphalt or concrete will be <br /> replaced at the surface depending upon original site conditions <br /> 32 Soil Gas Sampling <br /> ' Proposed soil gas boring locations were selected using the DTSC soil gas data (NERI, <br /> 1996), WZI and DTSC subsurface data, and the WZI mapping of the LNC sewer system <br /> The proposed boring locations are shown on Exhibit 1 Soil gas borings will be placed in <br /> each of the five locations on the LNC property that have been identified as potential VOC <br /> source areas Areas A, B, C, D and the former concrete tank site Borings will also be <br /> placed in two areas on the LNC property which had soil gas anomalies identified by DTSC <br /> by recent passive soil gas surveys (NERI, 1996) 1) the area in and around the LNC <br /> warehouse which coincides with a PCE soil gas anomaly (Exhibit 2), and 2) the area just <br /> north of the former Towing and Auto Parts Company where a TCE soil gas anomaly was <br /> 12270020 025 5 <br />
