The LD-2000 leak detector is a
mechanical, pressure sensitive,
continuous duty line monitor.
It has unique design and
function, yet it is designed for use in standard submersible pumps or adapter tees.
A patented, internal, free-floating check valve positioned at the downstream end of the leak
detector protects the leak detector against damage caused by hydraulic hammer (a rebounding
pressure wave formed when the dispenser nozzle is closed. The check valve also maintains
line pressure, sufficient to allow dispensation of fuel immediately, providing that the down-
stream dispensing line has no leak.
FEATUPLES
• Maintains pressure in the delivery line when no leak is present
• Detects leaks even if substantial hydrostatic shock occurs in the dispensing line
• Reduces unscheduled pump maintenance due to check valve deterioration or
functional element deterioration
• Provides improved performance under extreme climatic conditions
• Sees a leak of 3 GPH or smaller at 10 psi for a full 18 months after date of installation- )
guaranteed
• Overcomes problems caused by thermal contraction and line resiliency in larger
delivery systems
TEST RESULTS - A nationally-recognized independent environmental consulting firm
conducted twice the mandated number of EPA protocol tests on the LD-2000. Here is what
they found:
• The LD-2000 exceeds the EPA regulations that require detection of a 3 GPH leak at 10 psi
with a detection probability of 95% and a false alarm probability of 5%. Under conditions
of thermal expansion or contraction, the LD-2000 is capable of detecting a 3 GPH leak with
a probability of detection of 100% and a false alarm probability of 0%.
• Under neutral test conditions, the LD-2000 detected leaks under 2 GPH.
• From pump start-up, the average leak sensing time to full flow was less than 5 seconds.
• 125 ml vapor resiliency was added to the line system with no failures.
• The LD-2000 detected leaks in the pipe system up to 10' above the leak detector. This test,
called a "Head Pressure Reset Test," ensures that all buried pipe is protected.
