✓,�� <br /> 1 <br /> • CLOSURE REPORT AND REQUEST FOR Geomatrix <br />' NO FURTHER ACTION REQUIRED <br /> UST Site No 3 — Port of Stockton <br /> Stockton, California <br />' 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Geomatrix Consultants, Inc (Geomatrix), has prepared this Closure Report on behalf of the <br />' Port of Stockton (Port) as a formal request for No Further Action Required (NFAR) at the <br /> former underground storage tank (UST) Site No 3 (Site) located within the Port property This <br /> treport adheres to the California Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) — Central <br /> Valley Region guidelines for reporting at UST sites provided in Appendix A of Reports Tn- <br />' Regional Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of <br /> Underground Tank Sites (TRR-Appendix A, CVRWQCB, 2004) <br />' The RWQCB staff have provided a means for approving NFAR requests when contaminants <br /> remaining are no longer considered a significant risk (CVRWQCB, 2004) The TRR-Appendix <br /> A provides a number of criteria that are considered in reaching a decision regarding NFAR <br /> This report presents documentation in Section 2 0 for NFAR in accordance with Section 6 6 of <br />' the TRR-Appendix A Section 3 0 provides an evaluation of the site conditions in light of the <br /> low-risk case criteria provided in the TRR-Appendix A Based on this evaluation, Section 4 0 <br />' presents the Port's request to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental <br /> Health Division (EHD) for issuance of a NFAR letter for the Site Technical reports regarding <br /> the Site and references used in this report are provided in Section 5 0 <br /> 2.0 NFAR DOCUMENTATION <br />' The Site information required for a NFAR request according to Section 6 6 of the TRR- <br /> Appendix A is provided in this section This information is summarized from a report <br />' previously submitted to the EHD (Geornatnx, 2003) <br /> 1 Site History and Current Site Conditions. Two 12,000-gallon USTs that <br />' formerly contained unleaded gasoline were removed from the Site in 1988 <br /> Approximately 180 cubic yards of affected soil were excavated during removal of <br />' the USTs to an approximate depth of 11 feet below ground surface (bgs) The <br /> excavation was backfilled with clean soil and currently the area over the former <br /> USTs and excavation is covered with concrete pavement and surrounded by heavy <br />' industrial activities associated with the production, storage, and transport of liquid <br />' I 16660x16437 0001Archive16437 041 doc 1 <br />
