fes'_ Geomatrix
3.0 MONITORING RESULTS
' Second quarter 2005 WGR monitoring results are discussed in the following sections
' 3.1 GROUNDWATER ELEVATION, FLOW DIRECTION,AND GRADIENTS
Groundwater elevation data from June 1, 2005 (Table 1), were used to construct potentiometnc
' contours on Figure 3 No separate-phase petroleum hydrocarbons were reported in the site wells
Groundwater levels have dropped 0 1 to 0 2 feet in the site monitoring wells since first quarter
2005, with the exception that water levels did not change in wells MW3-5 and MW3-6
Groundwater elevation data for June 1, 2005, indicate a groundwater flow direction to the
southeast and southwest at gradients of about 0 008 and 0 006 (Table 2 and Figure 3)
' Groundwater flow direction and gradient for second quarter 2005 are consistent with those
during previous quarters
' 3.2 LABORATORY RESULTS
' The following sections provide an evaluation of the quality assurance/quality control results for
the laboratory analyses and present analytical results Copies of analytical reports for the
groundwater samples collected for the second quarter 2005 groundwater monitoring event are
included in Appendix B
3.2.1 Quality Assurance/Quality Control Evaluation
Groundwater samples collected by WGR for wells MW3-1, MW3-2, MW3-3, MW34, MW3-5,
' and MW3-6 were received by MAI on June 3, 2005 Holding times for the requested analyses
were met Recoveries of surrogate spike samples were within laboratory quality control limits
3.2.2 Analytical Results
Analytical results for quarterly groundwater monitoring parameters are presented in Table 3
Historical analytical results for grab groundwater samples collected from soil bonngs are
included in Table 4 During second quarter 2005, groundwater samples from four of the six
' sampled groundwater monitoring wells had detectable concentrations of TPHg or BTEX
Second quarter 2005 TPHg concentrations in groundwater samples collected from the site
1 monitoring wells are plotted and contoured on Figure 4
Groundwater wells MW3-4 and MW3-5 are background wells, wells MW3-1, MW3-2, and
MW3-3 are completed near the former UST, and well MW3-6 is a downgradient well Although
ilow concentrations of TPHg and BTEX compounds have been detected occasionally in
]\6000s\6437 GmAtchive\6437 030 doc 3
