GEOMATRIX
3.2LABO RATORY RESULTS
' The following provides an evaluation of the quality assurance/quality control results for the
laboratory analyses and presents analytical results Copies of analytical reports for the
' groundwater samples collected for the third quarter 2003 groundwater monitoring event are
included in Appendix B
' 3.2.1 Quality Assurance/Quality Control Evaluation
Groundwater samples for MW3-1, MW3-2, MW3-3, MW3-4, MW3-5, and MW3-6 were
' received by the laboratory on August 25, 2003 Holding times for the requested analyses were
met No analyzed constituents were detected in the laboratory method blanks or in the trip blank
' Recoveries of surrogate spikes were within laboratory quality control limits
3.2.2 Analytical Results
' Analytical results for quarterly monitoring parameters are presented in Table 3 During third
quarter 2003, groundwater samples from each well had detectable concentrations of TPHg or
' BTEX Analytical results for TPHg and BTEX in groundwater samples from wells MW3-1,
MW3-2, and MW3-3 are higher than most of the historical results, but are consistent with the
highest historical detections
This was the third sampling event for monitoring wells MW3-4, MW3-5, and MW3-6 During
' first and second quarters 2003 (Geomatnx, 2003b), groundwater sampled from monitoring wells
MW3-4 and MW3-5 contained no detected TPHg or BTEX The third quarter 2003 results
Iindicate relatively low concentrations of TPHg, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes present in the
groundwater sample from MW3-4 and even lower concentrations of toluene, ethylbenzene, and
xylenes in the groundwater sample from MW3-5 (Table 3)
During third quarter 2003, the highest concentration of TPHg, toluene, ethylbenzene, and
Ixylenes were detected in the groundwater sample from MW3-2, and the highest concentration of
benzene was detected in the groundwater sample from MW3-6
10I
I
I 1PROJECTTY000s16437 00016437-13 doe 3
1
