TPHG was detected in six of the ten soil samples at concentrations ranging from 1.3 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) (PLr5) to 6700 mg/kg (D-1). MTBE was detected in two of the ten samples at concentrations of 0.930 mg/kg (PL-2) and 1.71 mg/kg (D-4). Benzene was not detected in any of the ten soil samples. Over Excavation Soil Sample Results Table 2 presents a summary of the over excavation soil sample analytical results. TPHG was detected in two of the five soil samples at concentrations of 3300 mg/kg (ND4) and 9800 mg/kg (SD4). MTBE was detected in one of the five soil samples at a concentration of 0.41 mg/kg. Benzene was not detected in any of the five soil samples. Soil Stockpile Sample Results Table 3 presents a summary of the soil stockpile analytical results. TPHG was detected in soil stockpile (SPIM) at a concentration of 99 mg/kg. Stockpile SP-1, generated during overexcavation, contained TPHG at 240 mg/kg. Lead was detected at concentrations of 22 mg/kg(SPIM and SP-1) and 25 mg/kg(SPC 1,2,3,4). CONCLUSIONS Six of the ten verification soil samples contained detectable concentrations of TPHG and BTEX. MTBE was detected in two samples at concentrations of 1.71 and 0.930 mg/kg. Two of the five overexcavation samples contained TPHG, toluene, and ethylbenzene. Total xylenes were detected in all five samples. MTBE was detected in one sample at 0.41 mg/kg. Approximately 47 yards of excavated soil was transported for disposal to BFI/Vasco in Livermore, California, and approximately 50 yards of hydrocarbon impacted soil was transported for disposal to TPS Technologies in Richmond, California.
