The Letter of November 3, 4598 requests that the Port conduct
additional site investigation/characterization for site 5 (Site Code#1237). Your
letter of November 13, 1998 however, conveys a site closure and additional site
investigation for the fallowing separate and distinct sites within the Port
w Site 2: (Site Code#12822124): your letter indicates"the PHSIEHD is not
requiring further investigation of this area at this tirne". Therefore, the
PHSIEHD has granted the Port a site closure for site 2.
Site 3: (Site Code #12822124): Your tetter requires the Part to conduct
further site invest igationlcharacterization for this site. The PHSJEHD rational
for this request is that residual petroleum constituents were identified by the
site investigation report.
The Port would like to briefly discuss the necessary submission and the
associated timetable for sites 3 and 5 with you as specified in the above
referenced letters. In addition, the Port is awaiting site closure letters from the
PHSIEHD for sites 1 and 4 as the site investigation reports submitted to the
PHSIEHD did not reveal any residual contamination for these sites. Please
forward separate site closure letters for sites 1 and 4 to my attention as soon as
possible.
GENERAL OFFICE: 2201 W.
