LT4t
L(: v
A S S O C I A T E S I N C
L
Summary Report of
LSoil and Groundwater Investigation
Royal Oaks Pump Station
Lf Royal Park Lane and Princess Drive
Stockton, California
ATC Project No. 54.62574.0006
L
L1.0 INTRODUCTION
ATC Associates Inc. has prepared this letter report on behalf of the City of Stockton Public
LWorks Department to summarize soil and groundwater investigation at the City of Stockton
Royal Oaks Pump Station (Figure 1). The purpose of the soil and groundwater investigation was
to evaluate the vertical and horizontal extent of impacted soil and groundwater in the vicinity of
Lthe former underground storage tank (UST), if any. This work was done at the request of San
Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD). The findings
of the subsurface investigative study are summarized in the following report.
1.1 Site Location
The site is located on the south side of Princess Drive and the west side of Royal Park Lane in
Stockton, California, as shown on Figure 1. The location is primarily a residential area with
Dentoni Park located immediately west and south of the site. The site is currently occupied by the
Royal Oaks Pump Station.
1_2 Background
One 1,500-gallon diesel UST and all associated piping and dispensing equipment were removed
and transported off-site on May 20, 1994. Laboratory analysis of a soil sample collected from
beneath the former UST location indicated the presence of detectable concentrations total
petroleum hydrocarbons. After the tank was removed, the area of the former tank was backfilled.
The approximate location of the former UST is shown on Figure 2.
2.0 METHODS AND PROCEDURES
To evaluate the extent of impacted soil and groundwater, three soli borings were advanced in the
vicinity of the former UST. All field activities were performed in accordance with ATC's
Workplan for Soil and Groundwater Investigation at City of Stockton Royal Oak Pump Station,
Royal Park Lane and Princess Drive, Stockton, California, dated April 7, 1999. This workplan
was approved by PHS/EHD on April 12, 1999 with minor modifications.
w:1163931reporlslsumi.doc 1
