REPORTS AND DELEVERABLES:A formal timeline will be developed and submitted within 30 days of <br /> contract execution.The timeline will provide completion dates for major project tasks and delivery dates for project <br /> deliverables including draft and final reports.A preliminary GIS database and recommendations for drilling will be <br /> provided in October 2004.Two multiple-well sites will be drilled by the U.S.Geological Survey by September 2005 <br /> and another site by September 2006.These wells will be owned by local cooperating agencies after completicjn. <br /> Interim reports,published either as proceedings papers or journal articles,that describe preliminary interpretations <br /> of the 1)source of high-chloride water to wells and 2)recharge processes along ground water flowpaths are due in <br /> October 2006 and October 2007,respectively.A final report published as a journal article is due at the end of the <br /> study in September 2008. <br /> COOPERATORS/COLLABORATORS:The Northeastern San Joaquin Groundwater Banking Authority in <br /> conjunction with member agencies(such as the City of Stockton,City of Lodi,and the Stockton East Water District) <br /> and California Department of Water Resources(DWR)will be the cooperators on this project.The Department of <br /> Water Resources has an extensive history of cooperation with the U.S.Geological Survey as both a funding agency <br /> and as a collaborator.DWR will participate in this study,providing both funding and assistance in assembling <br /> existing geohydrologic data and assistance with drilling and ground-water sample collection. <br /> CONTACT PERSONS:The contact person for U.S.Geological Survey will be John Izbicki,Research <br /> Hydrologist,San Diego,CA.The contact person for the California Department of Water Resources will be Timothy <br /> Parker,Senior Engineering Geologist,Sacramento,CA.
