September 15, 2014
Reference: Site Assessment Report
On July 29 through July 31, 2014, a total of six soil samples were collected for laboratory analysis
from borings BA-1, BA-2 and BA-3.
TPH-GRO, TPH-DRO, TPH-ORO, BTEX, ETBE, TAME, TBA, DIPE and ethanol were not detected above
laboratory reporting limits in any of the soil samples analyzed. MTBE was reported in one soil
sample from boring BA-3 at 35 feet bgs at a concentration of 0.0037 milligrams per kilogram
("mg/kg"). MTBE was not detected above laboratory reporting limits in any other soil samples
analyzed. No other VOCs were detected above laboratory reporting limits in soil samples
analyzed.
Groundwater Samples
Tables 3 and 4 summarize the laboratory analytical results for groundwater from this investigation.
Laboratory reports, QA/QC and COC documents are presented in Attachment 3.
On July 31, 2014, a total of three grab groundwater samples were collected for laboratory analysis
from borings BA-1, BA-2 and BA-3.
TPH-GRO was reported in one groundwater sample from BA-3-W at a concentration of 1,200
micrograms per liter ("pg/I"). BTEX was reported in one groundwater sample from BA-3-W at
concentrations of 1.1 Ng/I, 2.4 Ng/I, 78 Ng/I and 320 Ng/I, respectively. MTBE was reported in one
groundwater sample from BA-3-W at a concentration of 36 Ng/I. Chloroform and
tetrachloroethene were reported in groundwater sample BA-1-W at concentrations of 3.4 Ng/I and
37 ug/I, respectively. No other groundwater samples contained concentrations of TPH-GRO, BTEX,
MTBE or other VOCs above laboratory reporting limits.
TPH-DRO, TPH-ORO, ETBE, TAME, TBA, DIPE and ethanol were not detected above laboratory
reporting limits in any of the groundwater samples analyzed.
INVESTIGATION-DERIVED WASTE
Thirteen 55-gallon drums of investigation-derived waste ("IDW") were generated during the
environmental investigation. The IDW consisted of 8 drums of soil cuttings, 3 drums of wash water
and 2 drums of concrete. Belshire Environmental Services Inc. picked up and transported the
drums. The drums of soil cuttings were transported to Soil Safe (12328 Hibiscus Road, Adelanto,
California), a thermal desorption and CEMC-approved disposal facility. The drums of water were
transported to Evoqua (5375 S. Boyle Avenue in Vernon, California), a CEMC-approved water
treatment facility. The waste manifests are included in Attachment 4. On September 5, 2014, the
drums of concrete were recycled at Philadelphia Recycling (12000 Philadelphia Avenue, Mira
Loma, California) and no manifest was generated, as concrete is not a manifested waste stream.
Design with community in mind
