ARCADIS Mr. Eric Rapport
April 21, 2011
In addition, a Hach°test kit was used to determine a field measurement of ferrous
iron.
Blaine Tech conducted low-flow purge sampling of the groundwater monitoring wells
using dedicated well tubing. Two duplicate groundwater samples were collected
during the January 2011 groundwater sampling event.
One set of field parameters were measured at the domestic well before sampling.
Domestic well groundwater was collected from a spigot located at the shop building
(Attachment 1).
The collected groundwater samples were placed into appropriate U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA)-approved containers, labeled, placed on ice, and
transported to TestAmerica (a California-certified laboratory) in Irvine or West
Sacramento (as appropriate), California accompanied by appropriate chain-of-custody
documentation.
Groundwater samples collected during the January 2011 sampling event were
analyzed for the following analytes:
00 ethanol and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by EPA Method 8260B
00 total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg)and methanol by EPA Method
8015B modified
CC oil and grease by EPA Method 1664A
To evaluate natural attenuation of the chemicals of concern (CDCs) in groundwater,
groundwater samples collected during the January 2011 sampling event were
analyzed for the following analytes:
00 nitrate/nitrite and sulfate by EPA Method E300.0
sulfide by EPA Method E376.2
00 carbon dioxide and methane by EPA Method RSK175
00 alkalinity by EPA Method E310.1/SM2320B
manganese by EPA Method SW6010B
In the Technical Memorandum-Biosparge System Test Summary and Preliminary
Aquifer Hydraulics Evaluation with Recommendations for Additional Data Collection
prepared by ARCADIS and dated November 20, 2009 (Tech Memo), ARCADIS
proposed collecting geochemistry data from eight groundwater monitoring wells.
