• -8-
Conclusion
We have planted trees in Alden Park in special planters designed
to prevent oil contamination. it appears that the health of the
trees has been affected by poor drainage, not by oil contamina-
tion. We have successfully removed surface oil seeps.
The objective of the mitigation plan is to eliminate the nuisance
of flowing oil to the residents. Our field tests have shown that
bioventing appears to be the most effective technology to meet
this objective. Mitigation will begin in 1989 , and a full-scale
system will be installed in 1990 .
References
1. D. L.
